AMERICAN DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) UPGRADE PACKAGE

We realize that there is rising population of Americans who seek independent lifestyles in spite of their disabilities. Laurel Village is happy to offer housing for these individuals and their families. All of our first floor condominiums are handi-capable, which means that they are constructed so that a homeowner with special needs can live in a home that is accessible now, or in the future.

All first floor condominiums are constructed with the following standard inclusions:

•  3' wide doorways

•  38" tub/shower that can accommodate grab handles (standard tub/showers are 36")

•  All rooms are wheelchair accessible as per ADA requirements (includes both baths and laundry)

If an individual wishes to have their new condominium upgraded to accommodate a person with a disability, they can opt to have their new home built with the following upgrade package which includes:

• Grab bars in baths (4)

• Raised toilets

• Wheelchair accessible shower with seat

• Tub/shower unit in 2nd bath

• Lever type faucets in lavatories

• Lever type faucets in showers

• Wheelchair accessible wall hung sinks (2) in lieu of vanities

• Commercial grade vinyl (one color standard)

• Commercial grade carpet (one color standard)

• Kitchen cabinets lowered as per ADA specifications

• Accessible Kitchen sink and fixtures

• Accessible appliance package

• Low profile door sills

• Double door to with low profile sill to patio in lieu of slider

• Lever lock door knobs
